While we’re always told to eat colorful fruits and veggies, pale white ones also do a body good. According to this article in Everyday Health, fruits and vegetables with white edible parts may reduce the risk of stroke. In a Dutch research report, “every 25 grams per day of white fruits and vegetables consumed led to a 9 percent decrease in the risk of stroke.” Apples and pears were the most commonly consumed “white” fruit. Also, “the risk of stroke incidence was 52 percent lower for people with a high intake of white fruits and vegetables compared to people with a low intake.”
